Ogle: We'll take the game to them

1 November 2022

Scunthorpe United defender Reagen Ogle has insisted the Iron will take the game to Eastleigh on Tuesday evening, as we aim to build on our league form as of late (19:45 GMT).

Having lost just one of our last nine outings in the National League, confidence is starting to build within the camp, ahead of our trip to Hampshire.

Reflecting on our draw at Barnet on Friday night, the 23-year-old believed United were unlucky to not come away with more than just a point, following another strong showing.

''I think it was bittersweet, we have got to take the points as we need the points,'' began the Australian, as he spoke to Iron Player

''But at the same time, it's the first time in a while we have gone 1-0 ahead and we are just unfortunate that one ball drops to them on the edge of the box and one shot managed to beat us.

''Like I said we have to take it and it's a point at the end of the day. We have to move and go again on Tuesday.''

Amplifying the workman-like intensity shown by Tony Daws' side at The Hive Stadium, Ogle insisted both he and his team-mates applied themselves superbly throughout the contest.

''I thought it was one of the most hard fought games we have had as a team,'' he added.

''Everyone was at in terms of working hard and if things weren't going our way, everyone just went at it, stayed together and no one dropped their heads.

''It was a very hard shift, a long journey to get there and for the boys to come out with a point it's better than nothing I guess.''

With Eastleigh having lost two of their last three outings in the National League, the Iron could climb further away from the National League relegation places with a victory over Lee Bradbury's side.

Ogle believes that although he is confident, United must be aware of the threat that any team in the division can pose across any 90 minute period.

"In this league you are going to have some good teams and all the teams are going to want to play,'' added Reagen

"We will be physical no matter what and we just have to go out there play our game and take it to them, put them on the back foot and go from there.''
