Remembering past matches played by the Iron on August 6...
Former Iron players born on this day: Jim Currie (1948).

Our last game on this day came in 2016 as three points were registered against newly promoted Bristol Rovers.

Despite being a goal down at half time, Kevin van Veen smashed home a half volley to restore parity before Josh Morris carried the ball from the half way line before guiding an effort into the corner of the net on his debut. Kyle Wootton played a neat give-and-go with Hakeeb Adelakun before slotting home the third to seal the points.

Prior to that game, the Iron had never emerged victorious on this day, with them dominating, but drawing 1-1 at Wycombe back in 2011.

It was the Chairboys who took the lead when Scott Donnelly's corner reached James Tunnicliffe, who nodded in.

But the visitors were not behind for long as Michael O'Connor whipped in a cross which Michael Nelson headed home.

Wycombe had Ben Strevens sent off late on for his second booking and the Iron thought they had snatched it but Chris Dagnall's strike was ruled offside.

Overall playing record for August 6: Played 4, Won 1, Drawn 2, Lost 1, Scored 4, Conceded 4.
