Former Iron player and coach Michael Nelson will be the guest speaker in the restaurant when the Iron host Sutton United on Tuesday, March 10th (7.45pm kick-off).
First playing for the club across the 2010-11 and 2011-12 campaigns, Nelson turned out a total of 36 times across Championship, League One and other competitions during his spell in claret and blue scoring one goal.
In September 2022, Nelson would return to the club in a coaching capacity to assist interim manager Tony Daws. Fast-forward two months to November, when Daws stepped down to return to his role as academy manager, Nelson would become interim manager.
Following Scunthorpe United's takeover and appointment of a new permanent manager in Jimmy Dean, Nelson was retained as head coach before announcing his departure in June 2023.
