Remembering past matches played by the Iron on August 18...

Former Iron players born on this day: Dick White (1931), Jack Hobbs (1988).

Victory for the Iron on this day in 2007 gave them their first three points in the second tier of English football for 43 years.

Burnley were the victims at Glanford Park with both goals coming after the half time interval in the 2-0 win.

Martin Paterson converted Paul Hayes' cutback to put the Iron in front while Jim Goodwin scored with a right-foot strike from the edge of the area.

Burnley had started well, with David Unsworth heading wide, while Joe Murphy saved a Michael Duff header.

Murphy then made a good save late on to save Chris McCann's 30-yard-strike.
