Oliver Lobley's Youth Alliance red card rescinded

4 September 2021

Oliver Lobley will no longer be subjected to a one-match ban in the Youth Alliance League after an independent Regulatory Commission upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal.

The 17-year-old was sent off in the 8th minute during the side’s 3-2 defeat against Doncaster Rovers Under-18s by referee Ethan Nundy, who had deemed his infringement to be denying an obviously goalscoring opportunity.

Having reviewed the footage following the game, an appeal was lodged with the FA and, shortly after, confirmation was received that the red card had been rescinded.

Lobley will now be eligible to be selected for the team’s latest clash, at home to Rotherham United Under-19s this morning.
