Howe: I'm looking forward to showing what I can do

1 February 2021

New Iron on-loan right-back Teddy Howe is excited to have joined the club and cannot wait to show the supporters what he can do.

The 22-year-old Blackpool defender arrived at the club on Monday night to bolster United's defensive options, and spoke to iFollow Iron shortly after signing.

He said: "I'm excited to be here. It's a new challenge and I'm looking forward to it. I've known about the interest for a few days and it's come quite quickly really, but I'm buzzing to be here.

"I'm excited about the prospect of being back playing football, and showing what I can do really. I haven't had that opportunity yet so I'm really looking forward to it.

"The manager's told me just to express myself, show what I can do and help the team push up the table. I'm excited about it."

Howe spent all of his career at Reading before joining the Bloomfield Road club. He made five cup appearances for the Royals in the 2019-20 season.

He's made a further two appearances for the Seasiders so far this season.

"I started off at Reading and was in the academy there, and worked my way up to the first team, and then got a move to Blackpool. I've been there for a year now and haven't played much, but that's football. I'm excited to join this club and play football.

"I'm looking forward to showing what I can do. I'm a defender but an attacking one who likes to get up the pitch, so I'd say I'm an attacking full-back who does both jobs.

"The team have done well, winning three on the bounce and hopefully we can keep that going. I have my own targets but the main thing is to help the team out and push further up the table."
