Scunthorpe had won three matches in a row before two further weeks of games being postponed or abandoned which has stopped them from being able to add to the points.
Speaking to Scunthorpe-United.co.uk about the unscheduled break, Green said: “It’s frustrating to be fair but we’ve just got to take it as it comes. The boys have just got to keep focused on whatever happens and look forward to the next game on Saturday.”
With 20 games still to play due to the rescheduled matches, Green is in a positive mood, and the former Southport man said: “It is a lot of games but that’s what we play football for and hopefully we can keep the momentum going with the good run we are on right now. I just look forward to the next game and take it as it is. We’ve got a big squad and we are all ready to go.
“I think it has been two weeks without a game but training went well today so we’ve all got good spirits to keep everyone going.”
Despite the challenging nature of the season, the 24-year-old said: “Everything’s tough right now. The weather is not the greatest but we just have to deal with it and be grateful we're able to train at the minute.”
Green has started in the last three victories, allowing him to show the fans what he can do, and he continued: “It’s been good to start in games, I’ve been patient and waiting to get a good run of games. I’m just trying to keep fit and keep going, being consistent and doing well for the team.
“I’m happy to hear some fans have been praising me. I’m just focussed on what I need to do for the team and myself and keep looking to the games ahead.”
Focusing on Saturday when the Iron face Morecambe away, Green said: “We expect to win every game that we play. They’re a good side and I know a few boys that play for them. We’ve just got to go there and do what we have been doing for the past three games. We know we can play well - we’ve got to maintain that momentum now.”
