The 23-year-old netted his second goal of the season in the fifth minute of the match at the JobServe Community Stadium, which would go on to secure the third win in the space of six days for the Iron.

Speaking about the game to iFollow Iron, he said: “We knew coming into the match it would be a tough one. I thought we battled well and it was excellent overall, a clean sheet and a win - we can’t complain.

“To get a goal early on is always massive, I thought we were great at keeping the shape and they didn’t create any real chances.”

United have taken nine points in three games and the turnover of matches has been quick, with Beestin saying: “We all knew it would be a tough week with three games but obviously we’ve made a few changes in the team and fresh legs are always a big help. We’ve just got to crack on now into the next game.”

Talking about the goal he scored, he said: “I saw space in behind and just ran with it forward. They kept dropping off so I thought I’ll take a shot and luckily it went in.

“It's been a perfect week for me and everyone else. Six goals, none conceded and a goal for me so I couldn’t be happier.”

He added: “I think this win means more because we fought harder and away wins are always massive but those 1-0 ones are extra special, especially when it’s a tight game.

“So, when we heard that final whistle, we were all buzzing. Hopefully, we can keep those clean sheets and keep winning more games."

Looking ahead to Saturday’s home game against Oldham Athletic (3pm kick-off), he said: “All we’ve been doing is taking each game as it comes, we haven’t had a day off throughout last week. We’ve just been preparing well like we do every game, so it's a case of one step at a time and we just need to keep trying to grind out those wins.”
