iFollow: FAQs

Common questions and solutions for the EFL's iFollow service.

I'm a 12th Man member who has received my code for this weekend's home match. What do I do now?

1. Visit the SUFC iFollow website here.
2. Select the fixture at the bottom of the page and click 'Apply'
3. Sign up or sign in to iFollow. If you already have an iFollow account, sign in using your email address and password. If not, create a free account by clicking 'Register Now', completing the form and clicking 'Create Account' at the bottom. It must be via the same email address you have registered with the club for your season ticket.
4. Enter your promo code in the box on screen and click 'Apply' to activate your discount. Your match pass will then be available for free. Please note you will still need to enter your card details in order to process the free match, but don't worry, you won't be charged.
5. Head to the Match Centre and tune in! The link to watch live will appear ahead of kick off on the match centre screen. 

We would encourage you to use your code as soon as possible, enabling the EFL iFollow team as much time as possible to help should you have any technical issues.

Please note that your email address and code are unique to you and cannot be used by anyone else.

Only one device can be logged in per iFollow account at one time.

Please note, in order to register an iFollow account, the user must confirm that they are over 18 years of age. If this promotional code is intended for an under 18 supporter, a parent or guardian must register for iFollow and redeem the code, using this email address. This constitutes parental consent.

I'm a 12th Man member but haven't received my code?
If you've not got the code by 12noon on Wednesday, September 23rd, check your junk/spam mailbox first to see if it's there and then please send an email to sufctickets@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.

When does the match stream start?
Streaming links will become available around one hour before kick-off in the Match Centre.

What commentary will be used on iFollow?
The commentary comes from BBC Radio Humberside. If it's an away game, and you wish to listen to Iron-specific commentary from them, please toggle the settings on the right of the video screen and opt for away commentary.

Can you purchase a match pass once the game has started?
No, you must purchase before kick-off.

How do I unsubscribe?
Should you wish to cancel your iFollow account, you will need to contact the EFL’s iFollow specialist support team.

You can reach this via the 'live chat' tool on the homepage of www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk, where you can find a small ‘envelope icon’, at the bottom right of your screen (visible once you have clicked on ‘got it’ to accept cookies).

Clicking this will open a live chat with a specialist advisor, who will issue relevant account or technical advice for you.

The chat service is available on www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk from 8am - 10pm, Monday to Friday and on matchdays from 3 hours prior to kick-off to 3 hours post final-whistle.

Alternatively, you can email ifollow@efl.com (please put Scunthorpe in brackets in the email title).

What do I do if I experience technical difficulties accessing the stream?
Firstly, please clear your browser cache and cookies, refresh your browser and try accessing content again. If you still have issues, please check for any updates available for your current browser and make sure cookies and third-party cookies are enabled.

If you have the same issues after trying those suggestions please try using an alternative web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Safari and Edge) to eliminate any browser specific issues.

Access to iFollow video is not available in private browsing mode.

Please note that live video links become available around one hour before kick-off in the Match Centre.

My Account is locked / I can’t login – what do I do?

If you are struggling to gain access to your account or you need to update your password, please follow the steps below:

• Go to www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk
• Click on the ‘sign-in’ link in the top right corner
• Click the ‘forgot password’ link
• Input the email address you used to create your account and click ‘Reset Password’

An email will be sent to you to reset the password - please make sure you check your spam folder.

Note that should you enter your password incorrectly three times, you will be locked out of the account and should contact the EFL’s customer service team for assistance via ifollow@efl.com (please put Scunthorpe in brackets in the email title) or by using the live chat tool at the bottom right-hand side of www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk.

If I have purchased a match pass, can I drop in and out of the coverage or join the match once it has started?
Yes, match pass holders can join the coverage at any time

I am logged in elsewhere but want to stream on another device. Is this possible?
Yes. The system will automatically stop playback on any other devices and the most recent log in will take precedent.

I can't find a button to click through to the live video stream, how do I access it?
Please note that live video links become available one hour before kick-off in the Match Centre.

Once signed in, select ‘iFollow’ from the navigation bar and click on ‘next match’.

I’m getting a blank screen when I try to play video?
Firstly, please clear your browser cache and cookies, refresh your browser and try accessing content again.

If you still have issues, please check for any updates available for your current browser and make sure cookies and third-party cookies are enabled.

If you have the same issues after trying those suggestions please try using an alternative web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Safari and Edge) to eliminate any browser specific issues.

How do I reset my password?
To reset your password, please follow these steps:

• Go to www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk
• Click on the ‘sign in’ link
• Click the ‘forgot password’ link
• Input the email address you used to create your account and click “Reset Password"

An email will be sent to you to reset the password - please make sure you check your spam folder.

Can I watch the game on my TV?
You will need to link your computer to your TV with a HDMI cable.

What do I need to enjoy the game?
An internet connected device – PC, tablet, phone

A good consistent WI-FI connection

An up-to-date operating system and compatible browser. To check this, register for an account and watch any video in the iFollow channel. If you can view the video, you will be able to watch a live stream

How do I watch on my iPad or Phone?
The game will be available by downloading the ‘EFL iFollow’ App which is available on all mobile devices.

Why am I getting a message about ‘Territory Restrictions’?
iFollow subscriptions are location specific and will only work in the territory where they are intended to. The use of a VPN is prohibited as per the terms and conditions.

My EFL iFollow App isn’t working?
Firstly, please verify that location services are enabled on your mobile device and test the app on mobile data and Wi-Fi to determine any connection differences.

If you are still facing the same issue, please follow the steps below:
1. Exit the application
2. Delete the app
3. Turn your device on and off
4. Re-install the app from the relevant App Store
