New on-loan midfielder Jake Taylor is looking to make an impact during his season-long loan period with the Iron, just like he did in League Two with Port Vale last season.
The 22-year-old scored seven goals from central midfield during his half-season stay at Vale Park, and played a key role in their push for a play-off place before he returned to parent club Nottingham Forest last January.
Now in Scunthorpe colours, Taylor can't wait to get started and spoke about how the move came about, his style of play and more in an interview with iFollow Iron.
He said: "I first heard about it a couple of weeks ago but thankfully it's all done now and I'm looking forward to getting started.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my half a season at Port Vale, it was a good experience and my first loan stint away. I know what the division's about and just want to get cracking now, and get some games behind me.
"I spent a couple of weeks with the Forest first team squad in their pre-season and enjoyed that.
"I'm a ball-playing midfielder but I also like to contribute with goals and assists. First and foremost I'm hard-working, put myself about and show good energy.
"It was a tough first session (with his new team-mates in training on Thursday) and I throughout enjoyed it. The manager called me on Wednesday and was very welcoming, telling me how he wants to play. It's quite a young group but I think the way he wants to do things suits me and my style."
Taylor follows in the footsteps of previous loanees Ryan Yates and Jordan Gabriel, who both made positive impressions at the club.
He added: "They've both said good things. I know Ryan came here a couple of seasons ago and Jordan last year. I knew the club was a good one though before I came."
