Grassroots Talent Day this October half-term

Scunthorpe United's Academy are holding a ‘Grassroots Talent Day’ for local Scunthorpe and district players to have the chance to showcase their footballing skills during the October half-term school holiday. The event is free to ensure that all children have the opportunity to attend.

The event will be held as follows:

Venue: The St Lawrence Academy, Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe, DN15 7DF
Date: Monday 26th October 2020
Time: 09.30am-10.30am U8s (Y3) and U7s (Y2)
Time: 11.00am–12.00pm U13s (Y8) and U12s (Y7)
Cost: Free coaching event

Report directly to the grass pitches
The event will be held outdoors, so all players must report directly to the grass pitches at the St Lawrence Academy. Do not come on to the school site. All players should arrive ready to play and must wear shin pads during the coaching session, and also bring a soft drink or water. Players should wear their own appropriate training kit and footwear.

Applications to attend must be emailed by Friday 23rd October by 5pm at the latest. If it is not received by this deadline, unfortunately your child will not be able to attend the event.

Covid Safe
Parents must pre-register their child before they can attend the event; please do not just turn up on the day without registering as your child will not be allowed to participate.

Players should arrive for registration no more than 10 minutes before the start time.

In line with our Covid-19 policy, on arrival, players and parents/guardians will have their temperature taken.

Parents are allowed to watch the coaching session but must observe the social distancing 2m rule at all times.

Safeguarding/Player Welfare/Child Protection 
For safeguarding, player welfare and child protection reasons, an adult 18+/parent/guardian must stay with their child throughout the duration of the event.

Places are limited and so are offered on a first come first served basis.

Apply early to avoid disappointment

Please do not just ‘turn up’ on the day.

In the event of inclement weather and in the interest of player safety and well-being, the Academy reserves the right to postpone or cancel the talent day at any time.
