Jordan Gabriel felt the Iron were far from their best, slipping to a 2-0 defeat against Cambridge United in midweek but says the team must put that behind them and be positive going into this weekend's game at Swindon Town.
He told iFollow Iron: “I’m disappointed with the whole performance. The first half wasn’t good enough and the second half, we got into the game a bit more but it still wasn’t good enough.
“It wasn’t us that were playing today. We’re disappointed we couldn't give the fans anything.”
Despite the stormy weather, he said his side can’t use the conditions as any excuse.
“It’s down to the players and what we put in,” he said. “We didn’t show that we wanted it as much as them.
“They had two opportunities and they took them both. We had a few but at the end of the day, we lost.”
Having joined the club almost three weeks ago, Gabriel said he is enjoying his loan spell in North Lincolnshire.
He explained: “They’re working me hard and I’ve still got a lot of things to work on. The staff are great, always giving me tips on how to improve, but as a player, you want to be winning games.”
The Iron travel to league leaders Swindon Town at the weekend and the defender is well aware of the threat the table toppers pose.
“It’s a tough game, we know that. We’ll put this game behind us and go forward. We’ve got to regroup," he said.
