Report: Winterton Rangers v Iron U18s

The Iron's Under-18s took on Winterton Rangers away in their latest pre-season friendly on Saturday lunchtime.

Academy manager Tony Daws said: "We played well in the first-half and hit the crossbar through Patrick Virgo.

"In the second-half, the physical and tactical challenge of playing against men and then giving the ball away in our own half too often lead to us giving away possession too easily, which resulted in conceding goals and we lost 4-0.

"All the lads got good game time as we build up to the start of the season."

IRON: Balme, Baker, Kemp, Trialist, Young, Lewis, Wilson, Gallimore, Dawson, Virgo, Wilkinson.

Brought on in the second-half: Crosher, Jessop, Silva, Trilaist.
