Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce a brand-new stadium naming rights deal for the club’s home at Glanford Park.
The venue on Jack Brownsword Way will be known for the upcoming season as ‘Sands Venue Stadium’ after a significant sponsorship deal was concluded with the Sands Venue Resort Hotel in Blackpool.
The hotel and leisure complex is owned by the Swann family, owners of Scunthorpe United via Coolsilk Property and Investment Ltd, with the sponsorship deal showing the family’s continuing support of Scunthorpe United Football Club.
Set to be Blackpool’s only 5-star hotel, the complex is located on the promenade, at the heart of the town’s tourist area, adjacent to the iconic Blackpool Tower and major attractions.
The hotel will feature 91 state of the art suites and luxurious rooms, an art-deco reception, a two-rosette restaurant with panoramic sea-views, spa and leisure facilities as well as a wedding, conferencing and banqueting suite. The venue will also house a brand-new museum for the area as an entertainment venue and further retail space.

“The stadium naming rights of the football stadium create fantastic domestic and international exposure for the Sands Venue brand, so it’s a perfect fit for us as we look to continue to invest in these two towns.
“The deal shows we remain committed to Scunthorpe and we’re pleased to be able to continue supporting the town’s football club with a sponsorship deal of this magnitude.
“With plans recently approved for the stadium re-development, it’s an exciting time for everyone involved with the football club and we look forward to welcoming supporters to the Sands Venue Stadium over the coming season.”
Sands Venue Stadium signage will be introduced at the stadium over the coming weeks, while the venue will now be referred to Sands Venue Stadium with immediate effect. Further exciting changes to improve the supporters’ matchday experience will also be implemented over the coming season.
