Andrew Madley will take charge of Tuesday evening's pre-season home encounter against Leicester City.
The newly-promoted Select Group One match official arrives at Glanford Park in preparation for his maiden campaign in English football's top flight after receiving the news in the summer. Prior to his promotion being confirmed, Madley refereed twice in a week at Wembley Stadium, refereeing the FA Trophy Final before returning for the League One Play-Off Final.
From West Yorkshire, Madley last season took charge of 40 matches, showing 115 yellow cards and four red. 31 of those matches were in the Championship, while he was awarded two trial games in the Premier League last season - at Vicarage Road and the Amex Stadium.
He's taken charge of 12 competitive Scunthorpe matches in the past, most recently in February 2018 when he oversaw the 2-2 draw with Northampton Town. Funso Ojo and Murray Wallace scored for the Iron in the encounter, while Josh Morris was the only United yellow card out of the six issued. In total, throughout the 12 games, he's shown 31 yellow cards and one red.
Meanwhile, he's officiated Leicester City on five past occasions, four of which came in the Championship. Despite this, the last time he refereed the Foxes was in the League Cup in August 2015 when they beat Bury.
Andrew will be assisted by Akil Howson and Rob Atkin, while David Jones is the appointed fourth official.
