Iron sign Jordan Hallam from Sheffield United

Scunthorpe United is delighted to have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Jordan Hallam on a free transfer from Championship side Sheffield United.

The 20-year-old pens an 18-month deal to become our sixth acquisition of the January transfer window.

The hardworking player came through the academy at Sheffield United to make his senior debut in a 4-2 victory against Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy in November 2016.

Prior to that, he had been prolific at Under-18s level for two seasons, notching 60 goals in that spell, and has continued to score regularly for the Blades’ Under-23s side. He scored 12 times during the first half of last season before moving away on loan, and has scored 10 goals in 20 starts so far this term.

During the last two years, Hallam has enjoyed loan spells at Southport in the National League North and Norwegian second tier team Viking FK.

He also signed for Chesterfield on loan in the National League two months ago, and scored on his debut in a 1-1 draw against Eastleigh. He appeared five times for the Spireites in all competitions.
