Iron sign George Miller on loan

22 August 2019

Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the season-long loan signing of forward George Miller from Barnsley.

The 21-year-old arrives at the club having signed for the Tykes for an undisclosed fee from Middlesbrough back in January, although he did spend the entirety of 2018-19 on loan at Bradford City.

Miller has amassed plenty of first team experience, with 43 starts and 18 goals across all competitions, with further appearances from the bench adding to his game-time.

An energetic, lightning fast and young forward, Miller can operate comfortably both down the middle or on the wing of an attacking three.

He began his career at Bury where he scored seven league goals in five starts and 24 substitute appearances before transferring to Boro for an undisclosed fee. Miller would return to the Shakers and score eight goals in 16 further starts, while also going on loan to Wrexham and Bradford before his move to Oakwell.

The forward arrives at the Sands Venue Stadium to bolster Paul Hurst’s attacking options ahead of this Saturday’s away trip to Macclesfield Town, and will wear the No 29 shirt.
