The on-loan forward helped the side record their first win in eight games when they beat Burton Albion 2-1 in the cup competition.

Looking forward, Ugbo is confident a positivie run can continue this weekend versus Bristol Rovers.

“It was good for the team to get back to winning ways because it is a big confidence booster,” the 20-year-old told iFollow Iron.

“I think we now have to push on and get a win this Saturday against Bristol Rovers.”

Ugbo, who is on-loan from Premier League club Chelsea, featured on the wing against Burton and was pleased with his own performance playing in a different position.

He said: “I think I did well for the team because I had to play out wide and do a lot of tracking back against the full-back.

“It wasn’t too difficult, but I had to stay switched on when the full-back was trying to get forward. I just had to stay on him.”

Scunthorpe will make the trip south to face the Pirates at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday, but Ugbo is wary of their opponents.

“We definitely go there in confident mood, although they will cause us threats, as usual,” explained Ugbo.

“I think we can go another run, starting this Saturday against Bristol Rovers.”

He added: “Our confidence is high at the moment and hopefully we can come back with the three points.
