The Cleveland-based official travels to the OneCall Stadium for his 19th game of the campaign.
His first game of the campaign was Barnsley's 4-0 victory over Oxford United on the opening day of the season at Oakwell. His latest encounter was on Sunday lunchtime as he took charge of Chorley's FA Cup round one tie against Doncaster Rovers. In that tie he showed seven yellows and one red card in the 2-2 draw.
He's taken charge of the Iron on five occasions in total, most recently back in September when he oversaw a six-goal thriller against Rochdale at Glanford Park. In the five games, he's shown 18 yellow cards and no reds.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Mansfield Town on 16 occasions. His most recent Stags encounter also came in this season's Checkatrade Trophy when he oversaw their 2-1 away win at Lincoln City. He showed eight yellows and one red on that night at Sincil Bank, including a last minute dismissal of former Iron midfielder Michael O'Connor.
He's shown a total of 71 yellow cards and three red cards in the 16 matches he's refereed them. All three dismissals have come for the opposing team. Of the 16 games officiating the Stags, 11 of them have come at the OneCall Stadium.
In 2017-18, he took charge of 41 games, issuing 150 yellow cards and two red. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 18 encounters, showing 71 yellows and three reds.
On Tuesday, Joyce will be assisted by Gareth Mellor and Grant Taylor, while Peter Wright has been appointed as the fourth official.
