United started the game really well and were 3-0 up by half-time, with Miracle Okafor scoring all three goals.
The first two came through good combination play on the edge of the box, before being well finished, while Okafor’s third came from the penalty spot.
The difficulty was the Iron only had a small group of players with them, while Peterborough were able to change their full XI at the interval.
Joe Busby added a fourth goal 10 minutes into the second period, shooting into the far corner at the back post, but Scunthorpe started to tire and Peterborough took advantage, managing to get level.
It was a good experience, work-out and there were lots of positive aspects for the Iron’s players to learn from the game.
