The 22-year-old becomes United’s first addition of the January transfer window.
Originally a youth player at Fulham between 2003 and 2005, Chelsea paid £80,000 to take him to the Blues at the age of 10 before moving to Norwich City at 16-years-old. With the Canaries, he would captain the side to victory in the 2012-13 FA Youth Cup, scoring in both legs of the final against Chelsea.
Once signed as a professional at Carrow Road, McGeehan would enjoy two loan spells at Luton Town, helping the side to promotion from the Conference. He would net six goals in 33 appearances across the two spells, while also netting three times in four games in a loan spell at Cambridge United which sandwiched the two stays at Kenilworth Road.
His loan move to Luton became permanent ahead of the 2015-16 campaign, where he remained for two seasons - making 73 appearances, scoring 25 goals.
McGeehan signed on at Oakwell for an undisclosed fee in the summer and has made 10 appearances so far in this campaign, including six league starts, scoring one goal in a 2-2 draw against Middlesbrough.
Despite being born and raised in England, McGeehan quailfies to play for Northern Ireland through his grandmother. The midfielder has been capped on ten occasions, representing his country four times at Under-17 level, and three times at both Under-19 and Under-21 level respectively.
