Vermijl joins on loan from Preston

31 January 2018

January Transfer Deadline Day saw the 26-year-old join on loan from Preston North End until the end of the season, and he is looking to provide real competition in defence.

After joining, the former Manchester United man provided his reaction to iFollow Iron.

ON THE MOVE…
MV:
I’m very happy to join and just want to get started as quickly as possible. I want to get some games in me and hopefully we can achieve something nice together. I just want to play football games and help the team as much as I can. I’ve heard a lot of good things from the club, and we all want to achieve the same thing – getting into the Championship.

ON WHAT MANAGER GRAHAM ALEXANDER TOLD HIM…
MV:
I spoke to the gaffer and he told me everything about the club, what he wanted from me and where he wanted to go with the club. My mind was set by that straight away and I can’t wait to get started as quickly as possible.

ON HIS AIMS…
MV:
I just need to play games at this moment in time and get back fit and playing games. Hopefully I can then push on from that.

ON HIS STYLE…
MV:
I’m very attacking, and like to get forward. I’m pacey as well.

ON HIS FELLOW BELGIAN FUNSO OJO…
MV:
I don’t know him personally but I know of him. I’m looking forward to getting started here on Thursday morning. I just want to get started as quickly as possible.
