Graham Alexander makes Futsal visit

20 February 2018

Iron manager Graham Alexander visited the SUFC Trust's Futsal scholars on Monday afternoon at Bottesford Sports Hall.

The first-year scholars were being put through their paces through the two-hour session, working on a number of drills. The side were then put into a match scenario, which Alexander got involved in.

Futsal Scholarship Manager Gav Cooper said: "It was great to have the manager come down to meet our first year scholars. It was a suprise to all of the lads that he came to the session and even more so when he asked to join in with the games.

"It is fantastic that the manager is willing to come to our sessions to find out more about what we do, this kind of visit adds value to the course and an afternoon the students wont forget. I would like to thank the Graham for his time and hope he will come down again soon."

Over the course of the two-years, the scholars study for a NCFE Level Three Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) with Futsal (worth up to three A-Levels), while also representing the club in the EFL Trust Futsal League, along with other cup competitions throughout the course of the season.

The SUFC Trust offer a number of courses and opportunities to learn with Scunthorpe United CSET including a "Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development" and "BSc Football Coaching, Development and Administration".
