Lewis Butroid signs new contract

7 December 2018

Defender Lewis Butroid has signed a new contract with the Iron, which will run until the conclusion of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who is a product of United’s academy set-up, has put pen to paper on a new two-and-a-half year deal.

He has been with Scunthorpe United since the age of nine and made his first team debut as a second-year apprentice at left-back against Middlesbrough Under-21's in the Checkatrade Trophy in 2016.

After signing his first professional contract six months ahead of graduating from his scholarship, Butroid made 11 appearances in all competitions during his maiden season in the first team squad in 2017-18.

So far this campaign, he’s made eight appearances in all competitions.
