It comes after a 2-1 victory over local rivals Grimsby Town in the Checkatrade Trophy, with Tom Hopper getting a brace.

Wigan were not in cup action during the week. However, they picked up three points in their last league game, defeating Walsall 2-0, which kept them in second place.

TEAM NEWS…
Graham Alexander will have the same squad available to him as he did for the previous game, which saw him make seven changes to the starting line-up.

Conor Townsend and Charlie Goode could be back in training before the Wigan clash, but will not be in contention to play.

Duo Luke Williams and Jonathon Margetts will continue to sit out.

PAST MEETINGS…
The two sides last met in January 2016, with the points being shared in a 1-1 draw. Luke Williams scored the opening goal before Michael Jacobs levelled it up 14 minutes later.

In the same season, the Iron lost 3-0 to Wigan at the DW Stadium.

ONE TO WATCH…
Nick Powell is one to keep an eye for the Latics, as he has found the net five times already this season.

The attacking midfielder earned a big money move to Manchester United at the age of 18 after impressing – and winning promotion – for Crewe Alexandra in 2012.

Since his release from the Premier League club, he joined Wigan on a permanent basis in the summer of last year, following a previous loan spell during the 2013/14 season.
