Tom Nield has been appointed as the referee for the Iron’s home Checkatrade Trophy group stage clash against Grimsby Town.
This is his first match involving United, and his first season as an EFL referee.
So far this term, he has shown 17 yellow cards and two reds in six games.
Ian Smedley and Wayne Grunnill are the assistant referees, with Darren Drysdale operating as fourth official.
