Trevor Kettle will referee the Iron’s home Checkatrade Trophy second round clash versus Leicester City Under-21s.
He has shown 65 yellow cards and three reds in 18 games.
Kettle last officiated an Iron game in March 2016 when he was a late replacement at Shrewsbury Town in a 2-2 draw, while in August 2015, he was the man in the middle when United beat Crewe Alexandra 2-0 at Glanford Park.
His assistant referees will be Duncan Street and Simon Clayton, with Oliver Bickle as fourth official.
