Paddy Madden has said that after having a good injury-free pre-season he is feeling better than ever.
The 27-year-old striker, who is entering his fourth full season with the club, told iFollow Iron how he wants a high tally of goals, a top six spot and nothing less.
ON HIS FITNESS…
PM: I feel a lot sharper this year. Obviously last year I got injured in pre-season so I was playing catch up. This year I feel back to myself and I'm hungry to get going.
ON THE PRE-SEASON…
PM: It's been good. It's been tough and the gaffer puts us through our paces but we're all ready to go now. We're all fit and sharp, so we're just looking forward to Saturday now.
ON AFC WIMBLEDON…
PM: AFC Wimbledon are always tough to break down. In fact, they beat us here last year and so it's important that we approach the game in the right manner and I'm sure all the boys will look to start out well again like last season.
ON HIS PERSONAL TARGETS…
PM: I had a few injuries last year but now I'm fit I'll be trying to get more than 20 goals.
"This year I feel back to myself and I'm hungry to get going."
ON THE FANS’ INFLUENCE…
PM: The fans are always important behind the goal to get us going and they always manage that. It's important that they stick with us and urge us on. I'm sure the boys will come up with the goods.
ON THE TEAM’S AIMS…
PM: You have to be confident and optimistic because if you're not then there's no point in getting out there. We're looking to finish in the top six as a minimum and any higher than that would be a bonus. You should go into every season trying to get promoted and that's what we will do. In pre-season, you get all of that hard work out of the way but when those fixtures come out you're looking forward to the season kicking off. All of the boys are excited and raring to go.
