Big Match Preview: MK Dons (A)

13 April 2017

Next up for the Iron is a trip to face Milton Keynes Dons on Good Friday.

The game at Stadium MK is the first of two fixtures in quick succession for Graham Alexander’s men, with Chesterfield to come at Glanford Park on Monday.

United head into the fixture in good spirits, after taking all three points against Bolton Wanderers last time out.

Alexander confirmed Matt Crooks won't be fit for the clash with the Dons. The midfielder had a scan on the knee injury sustained against Bolton and will see a specialist.

Otherwise, the boss has confirmed everyone from last week is fit. Harry Toffolo could be set to return to training ahead of the game too.

The manager has also confirmed Sam Mantom and Kevin van Veen have trained again this week as they continue their respective returns from injury.

Luke Daniels (ribs), Charlie Goode (ankle) and Tom Hopper (shin) will miss the rest of the season.

Two second-half Paddy Madden strikes helped the Iron come from behind to defeat the Dons 2-1 back in October 2016.

The visitors had led up until Madden’s introduction just after the hour mark, with Kieran Agard turning home a Ben Reeves cross prior to the interval.

From then on though it was all about the Irishman, who was on hand to tap the ball past David Martin, after the MK Dons had spilled a Kevin van Veen effort.

Madden then completed Scunthorpe’s turnaround, as he tucked home a Josh Morris delivery from the right.
