Over the last two days, Study United has successfully launched another year of their incredible Reading Stars sessions, with over 135 students from eight local schools attending day-long classes in the MKM Executive Lounge at the Attis Arena.

Helping to encourage reading amongst school children, Reading Stars has been an initiative that Scunthorpe United have been proud to support over the years, and this time is no different. Over the two sessions so far, the students have spent the day with award-winning author Tom Palmer, who, with Study United's help, has brought his book 'Ghost Stadium' to life, with students completing a series of interactive games and tasks inside the stadium.

The sessions have each been attended by Scunthorpe United players and staff who interacted with students by means of a question and answer session, and with defender Joe Starbuck and forward Danny Whitehall even going in goal to face the students' best penalties on the Friday. Meanwhile, Oli Ewing, Oli Rose, Ross Barrows and manager Andy Butler attended the Thursday event.

A big congratulations to all involved, and we're looking forward to another successful year of Reading Stars!
