Josh Robertson was one of the new scholars inducted in May 2021 for two years and signed his first professional deal with the club in the summer of 2023.

Netting one of the goals at Old Trafford against eventual FA Youth Cup winners, Manchester United, he reflected after the game: "It was a brilliant experience and I'm struggling to put it into words (about scoring), I really really can't.

"We work on set-pieces every week before a game and it worked wonders there, leading to a goal.

"I thought in the first half we played well and had chances to score, but when they came forward they were so quick with their play."

Robertson was also nominated for the April 2022 League Football Education goal of the month for his strike in the 5-2 home win over Huddersfield Town.

It was his side's fourth goal of that game, as a wonderful team move culminated in Nat Wallace picking out the unmarked Robertson at the back post, who smashed home his third goal of the season.
