The Iron are back in action on home soil after getting back to winning ways, on an away
trip at Yeovil. Danny Whitehall converted a penalty five minutes into the second half to
break the deadlock, and a Leo Farrell brace finished the game off and brought all three
points back to the Attis Arena. Our next opponents are coming off the back of a
humiliating defeat at home, looking to bounce back.

In the reverse fixture, Scunthorpe came through with all three points in the opening month of the
season. Dec Howe opened the scoring in the 13th minute, before Sutton fired in two goals either
side of half-time to go ahead, by Jack Taylor and Brandon Njoku. Oli Rose scored an equaliser
in the 56th minute, six minutes before Danny Whitehall fired in the winner for the Iron.
The visitors were defeated 5-0 at home against Morecambe last time out, after conceding four
first-half goals. Paul Lewis opened the score before a Jack Nolan first-half hat trick. Junior
Eccleston then got a sending off inside the opening half an hour. Dan Ogwuru netted the fifth of
the match and added to the Sutton United misery.

Sutton United’s away form is sure to be a concern going into this match, with just three victories
from 17 league matches, drawing five and losing nine. Countering this with the Iron’s strong
home form with 10 wins from 17, drawing four and losing just three at the Attis Arena.
A couple of attackers who have the talent to cause Scunthorpe a fair few problems are Lewis
Simper and Brandon Njoku. Simper is The U’s top scorer with 10 league goals and six assists
from 36 appearances this season in the league. Njoku, netted in the reverse fixture and has
scored seven this season, and assisted three, another player who can cause some problems for
Scunthorpe.

As the Iron are relieved to have got back to winning ways, comfortably beating Yeovil Town
away from home, and will be looking to build on their last match, they face a wounded side in
Sutton United, who will be desperate to bounce back from an extremely disappointing result
against relegation-bound Morecambe FC
