Scunthorpe United is delighted to welcome attacking midfielder Dubem Eze from Bolton Wanderers on a season long loan.
Starting in the Chelsea youth setup, Eze made the switch to Derby County’s under 18s in 2021 before then moving on to Norwich City.
In March 2024, Eze joined Warrington Town in the National League North for the remainder of last season for his first professional loan. The midfielder made six appearances and scored twice as Warrington finished 12th.
Eze, now 20-years-old, signed for Bolton Wanderers last summer as the B team’s first summer signing and has featured a handful of games for the side, along with impressing in training throughout. Described on the Trotters’ website as “a strong runner with the ball who can operate in a number of advanced positions”, Eze will bolster the Iron’s forward options this season.
In October last season, Eze signed for National League North side Chorley on an initial one-month loan. Following seven starts and one goal for the Magpies, this was extended through to the end of January, where it was then extended until the end of the season. Eze netted three in 24 appearances for Chorley in total, with his loan spell cut short towards the end of the campaign in order for him to step up to the National League and feature for FC Halifax Town. His stay at the Shay would see Eze make six appearances with the side.
"I'm buzzing to be here. It's a big club with a lot of history, so I'm delighted to get it over the line. One of the things that drew me towards the club, when I was considering the loan opportunities I had, was because of the number of fans. I'm excited to play in front of them, and to show what I can do.
"In terms of the player I am, I'm a skilful player. I like to get the ball, drive with the ball, beat players and also provide the end product in the final third, whether that be goals or assists. I want to be a creative, tricky and expressive player."
