What's on guide: Chester (H)

1 March 2024

With a large crowd expected, and a lot of activity in the build-up to the game, we're presenting you a what's on guide ahead of our Community Day against Chester on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

The Community Day was devised to increase the Attis Arena attendance, in an attempt to break the Vanarama National League North attendance record of 6,311 in a regular league season - currently held by Stockport County for their game against Spennymoor Town in March 2019.

With much more than a football match on offer, there's every reason to head down to the Attis Arena early and soak up the pre-match atmosphere.

Here's a round-up of what to expect on the day:

11am - Ticket office and club shop opens
Not got your tickets yet, or want some merchandise or a shirt to wear for the game. Now's your best chance to beat the matchday queues! The Iron's ticket office is open from 11.00am on a Saturday matchday, so pop up and see us or call 01724 747670. Tickets can also be bought online 24/7 from www.sufctickets.com.

12noon - The Iron Bar opens
Get that first drink in! With three mobile bars, our bottle bar, and our marquee up, there's certainly going to be a good pre-match atmosphere in this area. There will also be catering options outside the stadium, with the Smoking Goat bringing their products outside for you to enjoy even before setting foot inside the Attis Arena.

12.30pm - Stallholders open and events commence
We have a number of stallholders at the Attis Arena, which will be on the outside of the stadium, parallel to the Vertikal Stand near to the ticket office (see a full map below).

We will be welcoming the following:

  • Lindsey Lodge Hospice
  • Eddie Wright's Speedway

1.30pm - Turnstiles open
All turnstiles in the ground open, with an urge for all supporters to not leave it until the last minute to enter the stadium.

Both teams deal their cards, with line-ups announced on social media

2.15pm - Tweet from your seat!
Want to feature on our X page?! We're asking fans to tweet us at @SUFCOfficial with a picture of them in their seat. We'll share and retweet what we can.

2.20pm - Players warm-up
The players will prepare themselves for action from around 2.20pm. If you want to watch them get ready and give them a cheer, be in your seat by this time.

2.45pm - Teams go in
The teams will go in for their team talk at this time, so it's a great time for you to get settled into your seat.

2.55pm – The teams walk-out
Shout loud and shout proud as the players emerge from the tunnel for the pre-match walk-out ahead of kick-off.

3.00pm - Kick-off!
And then the fun and games gets started! Can the Iron get the goals they need? It's time to find out! Don't forget to get involved with Hi Ho Scun United before kick-off!

3.45pm - Half-time
Our catering kiosks will be open, while the Half Time Draw sponsored by Systemise Fulfilment will be made on the side of the pitch, and announced to all over the tannoy and via our social media channels.

4.00pm - Second-half gets underway!
Get behind the Iron for another 45 minutes of football as we look to earn a valuable win!

At full-time, hospitality area bars remain open, as well as the Iron Bar for all supporters.

The club shop and ticket office will also be open for a short period of time after the game.

We hope you have a brilliant time at Scunthorpe United!

Throughout the day...
