Flynn Clarke ready to make an impact in claret and blue

New Iron loanee Flynn Clarke gives an insight into his aims for the remainder of the National league North season, as well as informing us on what to expect from the attacking midfielder in the coming weeks.

When firstly asked on his reaction to signing with the club he replied: “I’m buzzing to finally get it over the line, I’ve been training with the lads for a long time now and that’s been beneficial to me now hopefully kicking on and getting promotion for the fans and the club.”

Having trained with the club for a number of weeks prior to his arrival, Clarke had this to say on how he’s found his time around the club so far: “It’s been amazing. There’s a great bunch of lads here and the staff are great as well, so we need to ensure we take the high standards from training into the games ahead.

“I was really relieved to find out about the embargo getting lifted, I was informed half-way through training on Monday, so it probably made me train even harder.”

The Scottish Under-21 international replied to the question on how he would describe himself as a player by saying: “I’m an attacking player who has got an eye for goal. I like to shoot, and I like to score goals combined with the fact I’m a team player who’s a hard worker, and hopefully I can help the team get victories and results.”

It has been a difficult 12 months for the 21-year-old Clarke, who sees his time with United as a chance to get his career back on track. “It’s a great opportunity and I think given everything that’s gone on I can hopefully find my feet again and prove to people what I’m all about.

“It’s been really difficult recently, but I’ve had amazing support from my family and my girlfriend’s family, so it’s been good to have that support.”

Having come through the academy ranks at Peterborough United, Clarke gave his opinion on his time with Posh: “I was at Peterborough for nine years all together, so they helped create me not only as a player but as a person as well and obviously its every boys dream come true to step up into the first team.”
