The Iron are back in action after getting back to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win on the road against South Shields, with goals from Cal Roberts and Alfie Beestin.
The Iron will be looking forward to a Friday night top of the table clash against Kidderminster Harriers.
Our opponents out in fine form themselves, after winning the first three games of the season, they suffered a defeat away at Warrington Town but were back to winning ways last time out, emphatically beating Oxford City 4-0 at home.
After a disappointing relegation last season, Kidderminster decided to pin down Phil Brown and Neil McDonald to new contracts, keeping them at the club as manager and assistant manager until the end of the 2025-26 season. Despite relegation, there was a clear improvement in form since Brown and McDonald joined the Harriers in January and they have decided to back and stick by their manager.
Kidderminster will be aiming to go straight back up after relegation from the National League. Forwards Ashley Hemmings and Maziar Kouhyar have both started the season off strongly as they look to make the difference for their team. The duo have both started the season with an impressive three goals each in the first five games of the season, and will be looking to carry their rich vein of form into this game.
As our opponents bring a deadly attack to the Attis Arena, the Iron’s defence will have to be up for the challenge once again this season. Scunthorpe bolstered their defensive form after the victory at South Shields as the Iron kept another clean sheet in the league with four clean sheets for United this season. The Harriers will have to try and break through a Scunthorpe defence with just one goal conceded this season, having played over 450 minutes of football. No other team in the league has a better defensive record.
