Loan Watch: November 11-14th

19 November 2023

A look into how our Iron players who are currently out on loan have fared during the recent Remembrance game week.

Marcus Carver
Front man Carver has been enjoying life at fellow National League North side Southport since the takeover of manager Jim Bentley who, with Carver's help, has propelled the Sandgrounders into within touching grasp of the playoffs.

This game week Carver featured in his side's monumental 1-0 victory over promotion-chasing South Shields, however the experienced striker wasn’t involved in Southport’s 1-1 draw against Blyth Spartans.

Richie Bennett
Late summer signing Bennett has continued his impressive form with fellow loanee Carver at Southport, stringing together three consecutive starts under Jim Bentley, and over the last two games, has played the full fixtures against South Shields and Blyth Spartans.

Tom Pugh
Workhorse midfielder Pugh’s search for consistent game time has been found at National League North Hereford. The Bulls had an underwhelming start to the campaign but have consistently improved their form in recent weeks.

Over the course this game week, Pugh started his side's fixture against Boston in which, despite their valiant performance, his team was defeated 1-0. Following this, Pugh was dropped to the bench, but was brought on to see out Hereford’s 4-1 victory over Banbury.

Dion Sembie-Ferris
The technically gifted Sembie-Ferris has been thoroughly enjoying his return to Peterborough Sports in recent weeks. However, despite his creative spark being integral to the Turbines in recent matches, DSF has been unable to help his side avoid defeat against Chorley to whom they lost 2-0 and Boston in a fixture where Sports also lost 2-0.

Harrison Poulter
Promising forward Poulter is currently out on loan at the oldest club in world football Sheffield FC. Poulter arrived at the home of football prior to his side's 2-0 defeat against Stockton Town in the Northern Premier League East for which he made the bench.

Josh Robertson
Creative midfielder Robertson has begun to make his way back into his Northern Premier League outfit Marske’s squad in recent weeks as he came on in the 75th minute during his side's 3-0 away defeat to promotion hopefuls Hyde at the Project Solar Stadium.
