Third Division Scunthorpe claimed the scalp of First Division Burnley with a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory at home in 2001.
This FA Cup third round replay had gone to extra-time and penalties before the Iron were able to secure the win.
The packed ground erupted when Kevin Ball blasted Burnley's sixth penalty over the bar to hand the home side a fourth round away tie at Bolton.
The game had everything - a late pitch inspection, a temporary floodlight failure, two late goals, a mini brawl during the penalty shoot-out, and sudden death penalties.
Scunthorpe began brightly and striker Guy Ipoua threatened early on, but his run was blocked by the Burnley defence.
Ipoua then won a free-kick 25 yards from goal. Andy Dawson curled the ball over the wall but he was denied a goal by a superb left-handed save by Nik Michopoulos.
Both sides struggled to cope with intermittent bursts of heavy rain and from yet another set piece, Bjarni Larusson struck a low free-kick straight at Michopoulos after 21 minutes.
But the best chance of the half came for Burnley after 30 minutes.
A Lee Hodges pass ricocheted kindly into the path of Burnley striker Andy Payton and he would have scored but for a last-ditch tackle by Scunthorpe defender Nathan Stanton.
Scunthorpe came out strongly at the start of the second half and in the 49th minute Michopoulos saved a Larusson shot.
Burnley's Glen Little then felt he had a claim for a penalty after 64 minutes but this was rejected by referee Graham Frankland and the player was booked for protesting.
Larusson lashed in a shot from 30 yards but it hit the crossbar. The rebound fell to Gareth Sheldon but his shot was palmed away by Michopoulos.
Then, totally against the run of play, Payton fired a low shot across Tommy Evans into the net to put Burnley ahead.
Larusson blasted a free-kick over the bar but, two minutes later, Scunthorpe got the goal they deserved.
Dawson, who had come so close in the first half with a free-kick, this time left Michopoulos stranded when he lifted the ball over the wall into the net.
Neither side could find a dramatic late winner and extra time also failed to separate the sides.
Scunthorpe's Peter Morrison and Burnley's Steve Davis had their penalties saved at the start of the shoot-out.
The, after nine successful strikes, including one from Scunthorpe assistant boss Russ Wilcox, Ball blazed his effort over the crossbar as the Third Division side won through.
Overall playing record for January 23: Played 10, Won 6, Drawn 2, Lost 2, Scored 18, Conceded 10.
