Marcus Carver makes Southport loan move

Iron striker Marcus Carver has joined National League North side Southport on loan for two months.

The forward joins the Sandgrounders in time to potentially make his debut against Leamington Spa on Saturday.

The 28-year-old has made two starts and five substitute appearances for Scunthorpe so far.

He signed for the Iron following a stop-start pre-season at Hartlepool and has since missed the past fortnight a recurring quad strain injury. He is looking to get back to full fitness during his time in Merseyside.

The Iron have a 28-day recall on Carver and the move is subject to league and FA ratification.
