Millen looks ahead to Rochdale home game

18 February 2022

Defender Ross Millen has previewed the home game against Rochdale this weekend for iFollow Iron.

Although his side suffered a 3-0 defeat at Swindon Town on Saturday, the 27-year-old Scot feels there were aspects that can be built on as a new-look Iron team continues to gel.

He said: “We had a lot of good chances in that game. We played some really good football but we need to score goals and also keep them out of the back of the net - then we’ve got a good chance.

“They took their chances and hopefully at the weekend we can take our chances.

“We just need to take care of ourselves and we need to make sure that we are winning games.

“It was a good night at our last home game against Walsall (which the Iron won 1-0). The fans have been really, really good at the games and we need them again on Saturday. Hopefully we can give them another good result. Hopefully we can do that again on Saturday.”

In the win over Walsall, Millen’s free-kick cannoned back off the post for Jai Rowe to net the winner on the rebound, and he added: “I was just delighted we scored the goal and I’m happy for Jai to get a goal for himself.

“I’m not too bad at free-kicks to be fair but the most important thing is helping the team in any way I can.”
