John Busby will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home Sky Bet League Two encounter against Mansfield Town this Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The Oxfordshire-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 31st game of the campaign and his eighth in Sky Bet League Two.
His first game of 2021-22 was a Carabao Cup tie between Walsall and Doncaster Rovers, which ended goalless. Doncaster won the tie 4-3 on penalties, with two yellows and a red shown on the night. Busby's first league match of the season was a Championship one, overseeing Barnsley's 1-0 home win over Coventry City, issuing 10 cautions on the day, eight of which going to the Tykes.
He's taken charge of a match involving the Iron on six previous occasions in total, most recently a 3-1 home win against Harrogate Town last season. One caution was shown to Scunthorpe's Abo Eisa. Across the six games, he's issued 23 yellow cards and one red, with that dismissal a second caution to Levi Sutton away at Forest Green Rovers.
Meanwhile, he's refereed Mansfield Town on seven previous occasions, with the last coming at Bristol Rovers in February. Across those games, he's issued 25 yellow cards and no reds.
Incidentally, he's taken charge of this fixture before, but away at Field Mill. The Stags won 2-0 on the day, which was back in September 2019, with five cautions shown.
In 2020-21, he took charge of 35 games, issuing 90 yellow cards and six reds. His season culminated in taking charge of the FA Vase Final at Wembley between Binfield and Rylands.
So far this season, in 30 games, he's shown 109 yellow cards and four reds.
On Saturday, Busby will be assisted by Matthew Jones and Nik Barnard, while Tom Reeves has been appointed as the fourth official.
