Important information for fans ahead of return at the Sands Venue Stadium

17 July 2021

Ahead of their anticipated and long-overdue return to football, supporters are advised that on matchdays the Sands Venue Stadium will be operating as a cashless stadium for the 2021/22 season, starting with Tuesday night's home pre-season friendly against Burton Albion.

Only credit/debit card and smartphone payment methods will be accepted as a form of payment via the concourse refreshment kiosks, hospitality facilities, ticketing booths, car park stewards, ticket office and club shop.

Offering a much-improved and more speed efficient experience for all visitors to the Sands Venue Stadium, the club no longer accepting coins and notes as payment on matchdays will also help with ensuring the health and safety of supporters and staff members.

Please note, there will be no cash turnstiles open for these friendlies with supporters having to purchase tickets online via www.sufctickets.com or by visiting our ticket office, which will be open until kick-off for each matchday. More details can be seen here.

There will be no hot food on sale from the refreshment kiosks for the first home friendly of pre-season vs Burton, but we will have hot drinks, cold drinks and cold snacks available to buy.

Supporters can book a parking space in advance by clicking here. These are on sale for all three home friendlies vs Burton Albion, Hull City and Lincoln City. Otherwise, supporters can pay by card to a car park steward on the approach into the stadium. Fans can make a £1 saving by buying in advance though.

There will be no digital matchday programme or 50/50 half-time draw for the friendly fixtures. We can confirm there will be a free downloadable programme with a smaller number of pages than previously and Junior Iron supplement for our younger fans for home league fixtures though.

Finally, supporters are encouraged to wear a face covering when attending upcoming matches at the Sands Venue Stadium, starting with the pre-season friendly against Burton Albion on Tuesday evening. There will be hand sanitiser available at various points around the stadium and proof of double vaccination or a negative test is not required at this stage.

If any supporters have any queries, please email feedback@scunthorpe-united.co.uk.
