James Bell will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home Sky Bet League Two encounter against Port Vale on Tuesday.
The Sheffield and Hallamshire-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 18th game of the season and his eighth in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is his first in the EFL as the man in the middle.
His first game of the campaign was the Papa John's Trophy match between Grimsby Town and Harrogate Town at Blundell Park which finished 2-2 with the hosts winning 5-4 on penalties. He issued four yellows and one red. Meanwhile, his latest match was last Saturday as he oversaw Portsmouth's 1-0 away win at Fleetwood Town, showing one caution. At the weekend, he was fourth official to Kevin Johnson in the game between Crewe Alexandra and AFC Wimbledon.
Being his first season in the EFL, he will take charge of the Iron in the league for the first time, but he was the man in the middle earlier in the season as he oversaw the FA Cup exit against Solihull Moors. Three yellow cards were issued, with two of those combining to make a red for then-on-loan defender Tyler Cordner.
He's also refereed Port Vale once so far this season and that came in October when the Valiants lost 1-0 at home to Carlisle United. Of the four cautions on the day, three of them went to Vale players.
In 2019-20, he took charge of 19 games in the National League and FA Cup, issuing 56 yellow cards and no reds, while so far this season, in 17 games, he's shown 50 yellow cards and six reds.
On Tuesday, he will be assisted by Kenwyn Hughes and David Hunt, while Billy Smallwood has been appointed as the fourth official.
