Rob Lewis will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away league clash against Crawley Town on Saturday.
The Shropshire-based official arrives at the People's Pension Stadium for his 22nd game of the campaign and his ninth in Sky Bet League Two.
His first game of the campaign was Fleetwood Town's 3-1 away victory over Peterborough United on the opening day of the season, a game in which he showed seven cautions. Meanwhile his last game in the middle came two weekends ago when he oversaw Oldham Athletic's 1-1 home draw with Carlisle United. He issued two yellow cards.
The 50-year-old has taken charge of the Iron on 10 occasions in total, most recently in September when he dismissed Matthew Lund early on following a Jamie Ward penalty against Bradford City with United eventually drawing 1-1.
In the 10 previous games refereeing Scunthorpe, he's issued 41 yellow cards and five reds. There have been two games with the most yellow cards (eight) - one in the Championship against Middlesbrough which also included a dismissal and one away at Gillingham, which also saw the hosts awarded three penalties.
Lewis is one of the EFL's longest serving officials, refereeing his first League Two match in 2005 between Rochdale and Rushden & Diamonds. Prior to this, he officiated on the Conference and was also an assistant referee on the Premier League.
As an assistant, he's been involved in some top matches, including games in the Champions League, UEFA Cup, Euro Qualifiers and a World Cup Qualifier.
Despite his vast experience, he's only refereed Crawley Town on four occasions, with the last coming in August 2015. He's only had one past visit to the People's Pension Stadium and the Reds are yet to taste victory with him in charge. He's shown 15 yellow cards and one red across the four games he's been involved.
In 2018-19, he took charge of 21 games, issuing 75 yellow cards and four reds. So far in this campaign, he's refereed 21 games, showing 77 yellow cards and four reds.
On Saturday, Lewis will be assisted by Justin Amey and Conor Farrell, while Oliver Jackson has been appointed as the fourth official.
