The 21-year-old joins from Middlesbrough for the rest of the season and is looking forward to getting games under his belt and helping the club progress up the League Two table.
He said: “I’m delighted to be here and will hopefully get some games under my belt. As soon as I found out about the interest, I wanted to come straight away, so I’m looking forward to it.
“I didn’t know I was allowed to go out on loan until Wednesday night, and then my agent phoned yesterday and I came down this morning. I really wanted to come here and am looking forward to it.
“I’ve played two games this season for the first team, and have been on the bench quite a lot. I think it was the right time to go out and get games. It’s not a bad league to come to and learn my trade.
“I’ve experienced the league before and know what it’s all about. Hopefully I can come here and do well.
“I just want to win as many games as I can and help the team in whatever position I’m asked to play in. Hopefully we can win some games and see where it takes us.”
Liddle has been in numerous matchday squads for Middlesbrough this season, and has scored 10 goals in 11 games for their Under-23s.
The central midfielder went on to explain how it felt to make his full debut in an FA Cup third round replay at Tottenham Hotspur.
He said: “It was good and what I’ve dreamed of growing up. I’ve been there since I was seven so it was a big moment for myself. I learnt a lot in the game, and though it was tough chasing shadows a lot of the time, it was good to make my full debut on that big stage.”
Describing his style of play, he continued: “I’m a central midfielder and like to be box-to-box and get forward. I’ve scored a few goals this season, which I hadn’t in the past and needed to add to my game.”
