Darren Drysdale will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away league clash against Grimsby Town on Saturday.
The Lincolnshire-based official will travel to the Blundell Park for his 14th game of the campaign and his fifth in Sky Bet League Two. Drysdale is currently in his 17th season as an EFL official.
His first game of the campaign was a 3-0 home win for Northampton Town against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup, which ended with seven cautions. Meanwhile, his latest game was at the end of November in the Emirates FA Cup when he oversaw Chorley's 2-1 away win over Peterborough United. He showed three yellow cards.
He's taken charge of the Iron on 10 occasions in total, most recently last September in the 2-2 draw against Oldham Athletic at the Sands Venue Stadium when the side came from 2-0 down to take a point. Five cautions were issued to both teams with Yann Songo'o, Junior Brown, Matthew Lund, Kevin van Veen and Jamie Proctor all seeing yellow for the home side.
Of those encounters involving United, seven of them have come at the Sands Venue Stadium, so Saturday will only be the fourth time that Drysdale has taken charge of the side away from home. In the 10 games refereeing Scunthorpe, he's issued 40 yellow cards and no reds.
Meanwhile, he's also refereed Grimsby Town on 10 occasions - most recently last month when they lost 3-0 to Hull City in the Papa John's Trophy. Three yellow cards were issued, including two to the Mariners. Seven of those 10 games were at Blundell Park so Saturday will be his eighth visit as the man in the middle. Across the 10 games, he's shown 33 yellow cards and no reds.
In 2019-20, he took charge of 26 games, issuing 96 yellow cards and three reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 13 encounters, showing 29 yellows and one red.
On Saturday, Drysdale will be assisted by Andrew Dallison and David Hunt, while Christopher Ward has been appointed as the fourth official.
