The Iron will be looking to make it back-to-back home wins when Oldham Athletic visit the Sands Venue Stadium on Tuesday night.
SCENE-SETTER
Boosted by a 3-0 win over Morecambe at the weekend, United come into the game looking to build on that result and performance against Laurent Banide's side.
The Latics were leading against Grimsby Town at Boundary Park on Saturday, before being pegged back to draw 2-2. They enter the game sitting 20th in the table, and two points above Scunthorpe - for whom victory would see them climb above the visitors.
TEAM NEWS
Iron manager Paul Hurst confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Ryan Colclough trained on Monday following a groin injury last week and, providing he came through that okay, should be available for the match after missing the weekend.
Andy Butler remains absent with an ankle injury sustained away at Mansfield Town 10 days ago.
Both Jacob Bedeau (knee) and Lewis Butroid (ankle) returned from their respective injuries last week to face Southend United Under-23s in the Premier League Cup second qualifying round, while Levi Sutton (medial ligaments) and Andy Dales (hamstring) are back in full training. Hurst expects the latter two to be available for the next Under-23s encounter as they build their way back up to full fitness.
Meanwhile, Jordan Hallam (ankle) has recently been added to the injury list which also comprises of Lee Novak (ankle) - although the Geordie is recovering well and could be back running on grass in due course.
