Scunthorpe United Football Club would like to remind supporters about our zero-tolerance policy with regards to anti-social behaviour.
Ensuring the safety of our supporters, players and staff is always of paramount importance to Scunthorpe United Football Club.
This season, the Supporters Behaviour Panel acting on behalf of Scunthorpe United Football Club in conjunction with Humberside Police have reviewed a number of supporters that have either being involved in, or caused or contributed to football-related violence or disorder.
This behaviour has directly or indirectly cost the club money over the years in extra stewarding and policing, and it’s that poor behaviour that negatively affects the reputation of Scunthorpe United supporters nationally. This behaviour is something that we cannot ignore.
With the presence of CCTV in all stadia, in addition to the presence of match stewards and police at matches, anyone behaving anti-socially at home and away games is highly likely to be caught on camera and subsequently identified.
We’d also like to remind supporters that the possession and use of pyrotechnics, smoke bombs and throwing objects is highly dangerous and illegal in football stadiums.
Not only can it be dangerous, but the club can also suffer serious repercussions imposed by the FA, such as financial penalties - and more worryingly - someone could get seriously hurt.
We would also like to remind supporters that if there are incidents of this nature reported, then the Football Association have the power to impose serious financial penalties on the club.
The club urges all supporters to assist us in this matter by reporting any incidents to the club and help us to eradicate this behaviour.
