Tom Nield will referee the Iron's away league encounter at Grimsby Town on Saturday.

He last officiated an Iron fixture in October this year when United were narrowly defeated 2-1 at Newport County.

Prior to that, he last refereed us in April 2018 when the Iron drew 1-1 away at AFC Wimbledon, and levelled late on through a goal from Lee Novak.

Before then, he was referee when the Iron defeated Grimsby Town 2-1 in the EFL Trophy during October 2017, secured through a brace of goals from Tom Hopper.

This is his third season as an EFL referee, with the 2017-18 campaign his first. He showed 65 yellow cards and two reds in 29 matches that term.

Last season saw him show 68 yellow cards and three reds in 21 matches, while this season has officiated 16 games, showing 44 yellow cards and two reds.

Declan Ford and Gareth Mellor are the assistant referees, while Samuel Barrott will be the fourth official.
