Busy week for new addition Brown

29 August 2019

Paul Hurst strengthened his squad with the addition of Junior Brown earlier on Thursday and the defender was pleased to get the deal over the line after a frantic week.

Signing on loan from Coventry City until January, he told iFollow Iron: “It’s been a hectic couple of days. Me and my partner had our first child on Tuesday so I’ve had that and this loan deal.”

Despite being a full-back by trade, the left-sided player enjoys getting forward.

“I’m an out-and-out attacking full-back. I’ll give everything I’ve got, week in week out, and hopefully that will endear me to the fans,” he said.

The former Fleetwood man has set himself three aims for the campaign: “To stay fit, play as many games and get some good results!”

He is no stranger to the manager, having played under Hurst at Shrewsbury when they reached the League One play-off final in 2017/18.

“I’m excited about the challenge ahead. I know the gaffer and his assistant (Chris Doig) from my time at Shrewsbury, and I know the club quite well from playing against them,” he added.

“Having worked with the manager before, I know what they’re about, what they’re like to work with and the style of play. Their attention to detail is second to none. They’ve got great ideas and work ethic.

“I know it’s been a difficult start to the season so far but hopefully we can kick-start a good run of form.”
